Performance & SEO
Optimise your bldrAgent app for speed, Core Web Vitals, and search engine discoverability.
Performance on bldrAgent
bldrAgent apps are served through a global CDN (Content Delivery Network) that caches your app close to your users worldwide. Most performance optimisations happen automatically, but there are steps you can take to push Lighthouse scores even higher.
What bldrAgent handles automatically
- Image optimisation — images are resized, compressed, and served in WebP format
- Code splitting — JavaScript is split per page so only what's needed is loaded
- CDN caching — static assets cached globally at 200+ edge locations
- HTTP/2 — multiplexed connections for faster asset loading
- SSL/TLS — all apps served over HTTPS with free certificates
- Preloading — critical resources are preloaded for faster first render
Image best practices
Images are the most common cause of slow page loads:
- Use the Media Manager to upload images (auto-optimised)
- Avoid pasting external image URLs unless necessary
- Set meaningful alt text on every image for accessibility and SEO
- Use lazy loading for images below the fold (ask the AI: "Add lazy loading to all images on the blog listing page")
Core Web Vitals
Google uses three Core Web Vitals metrics to rank pages:
| Metric | Target | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) | < 2.5s | How fast the main content loads |
| FID / INP (Interaction to Next Paint) | < 200ms | How responsive the page is to interaction |
| CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) | < 0.1 | How much the layout shifts while loading |
Tip: Ask the AI to audit your page: "Review the homepage for Core Web Vitals issues and fix anything that could slow down the LCP or cause layout shift"
SEO fundamentals
Meta tags
Set unique, descriptive meta titles and descriptions for every page. In App Settings → SEO, you can set global defaults and override them per page.
Structured data
Ask the AI to add structured data:
"Add JSON-LD schema markup for a LocalBusiness on the homepage" "Add Product schema to each product page"
URL structure
bldrAgent uses clean URLs by default. Avoid overly deep URL nesting. Good: /products/running-shoes. Bad: /category/shoes/type/running/id/12345
Canonical tags
If you have paginated content or filter pages that create duplicate URLs, ask the AI to add canonical tags.
Monitoring performance
- Lighthouse — run from Chrome DevTools on any published app page
- Google Search Console — monitor Core Web Vitals for indexed pages (connect in App Settings → SEO)
- PageSpeed Insights — free tool at pagespeed.web.dev
Performance scores are best measured on your published app (production URL), not the editor preview.
